A stylish new hotel has just opened in time for the 2008-09 tourist season in Necochea. The Apart Hotel Aires del Mar boasts an excellent location on Avenida 2 N° 4040 between Calles 81 and 83, just a hop, skip and a jump from the beach and the pedestrian zone. The property will be open year-round and features amenities such as a pool, Wi-Fi access, and kitchenettes in all rooms. Although that section of town teems with activity during the the summer months, most shops and restaurants close in the off-season, which means the area will be rather dead after the summertime crowds leave. Prices start at $300 pesos for a double.
All in all, the Aires del Mar looks like a great addition to the city's hotel offerings.

Very interesting, Katie. Do you see the building just next to that empty lot where the apart hotel is now? That's the "Aconcagua" building (part of a gallery complex), which is where my father (and I) lived for many years...
On another note, have you seen your blog (and yourself) featured in one of Necochea's news portals, Ahora Info? Here's the link!
Yes, I'm familiar with the Aconcagua building! I'm sure it was nice to live so close to the water. :) I'll be living on the other side of town near the Puente Colgante.
Thank you for letting me know about the mention on AhoraInfo. I do subscribe to updates from that site, but I hadn't gotten around to reading that entry just yet. I appreciate the heads up and also the kind comments you made about me on their site!
No problem, Katie. Also, if I'm not mistaken, and judging by the address that appears on your other website, you'll be living near the bus terminal, which is one of the areas I frequented the most as a child, as my grandparents lived very close and I would go to fish with my friends just near the curve by the terminal.
Oh, memories... :-)
Oh, another thing: I'm on my way to NJ this Sunday and will be there for two weeks, so we will be almost neighbours!
Where will you be at in NJ, Gabriel?
I'll be in Hasbruck Heights, near Newark. I'm doing training from the 12th to the 23rd, and will be driving down to Virginia during the weekend to visit my brother there.
Was it you who asked me if I posted my pictures in Flickr? In that case the answer is 'yes' (gabriel_almada is my userid)
Ahh, Newark is about 1 hr 45 min from Philadelphia, but you should be passing right by here on your way down to see your brother in Virginia. Let me know if you'd like to get together for a coffee and to say hello! Email me at katie.v.alley at gmail dot com.
